About ISTransbase
Inhibitor and substrate of transporters Database
-
01 Most comprehensive and largest
database of inhibitors and substrates of drug transporters
ISTransbase encompasses a vast collection of data, consisting of 163 drug transporters representing 18 different species. Among these transporters, 17 transporters are members of the ABC transporter family, including prominent ones such as MDR1, BCRP, BSEP, and MRPs. Additionally, there are 132 transporters belonging to the SLC transporter family, such as OATPs, OAT1/2/3/4, OCT1/2/3, and NTCP. With meticulous research conducted across government documents, Pubmed, and multiple open databases, ISTransbase has compiled an impressive compilation of 16,528 inhibitors and 4,465 substrates of drug transporters. This vast dataset encompasses a remarkable 93,518 entries on inhibitors and 51,053 entries on substrates. Notably, MDR1 emerges as the most abundant transporter in the inhibitors classification, followed by OATP1B1, OATP1B3, BCRP, and BSEP, among others. Similarly, MDR1 occupies the highest proportion of substrates, with BCRP, OCT1, MRP2, and OATP1B1, among others, also significantly represented. The wealth of information provided by ISTransbase empowers researchers and practitioners alike in gaining valuable insights into drug transporter inhibitors and substrates.

03 Multivariate and multi-constrained efficient
search engine for drugs and transporters
ISTransbase offers three primary search methods: drug-to-transporter mapping, transporter-to-drug mapping and Drug-Transporter Checker. The user-friendly 'Search' page allows users to input a drug or transporter and refine their search by selecting relevant constraints, all of which have been effectively annotated. Additionally, users can enter both the transporter and the compound to explore their relationship. On the 'Database' page, experimental data is presented in a convenient lazy-loading format, greatly enhancing the user experience. The 'Filter' sidebar on the left enables users to apply various constraints and select multiple variables for a specific constraint. Furthermore, drugs and transporters are linked to respected sources such as Drugbank and Uniprot, while ADME information for drugs, predicted by the ADMETlab 2.0 website, is also provided. ISTransbase facilitates quick and accurate access to drug and transporter information, empowering users with efficient research capabilities.
